Google Health Senior Program Manager (2021 - 2022)

  • Oversaw strategic program for strengthening user trust in Google Health, managing six concurrent work streams and mobilizing cross functional stakeholders in marketing, product, engineering, public policy, and clinical teams to drive project completion

  • Ran team meetings with up to 30 stakeholders, lead cross functional workshops to drive alignment, and lead monthly VP-level reviews by creating & presenting memos & decks

YouTube Health Product Manager (Interim Role 2020)

  • As interim YouTube Health Product Manager, launched Depression and Anxiety Health Information & Screening Panels on YouTube Mobile Search in 29 countries

  • Authored product requirements document, developed product strategy, set milestones, and presented to product leadership in executive forums resulting in timely launch

YouTube Legal Operations Team Manager (2018 - 2021)

Project: Child Safety - Underage Accounts Program

  • Significantly impacting Google’s company-wide priority of child safety, I oversaw program management, product strategy, and operational scaling of YouTube’s unprecedented increase in detection & termination of underage accounts, scaling from dozens to 40 million terminations 

  • Authored product requirements documents & managed multiple engineering teams across Google to develop machine learning classifier identifying underage accounts at scale

  • Distilled complex space into a cross functional program with multiple workstreams; managed initiative across five engineering teams, four product teams, and two operations teams 

  • Drove communications and approvals in multiple executive-level forums to align on YouTube’s strategy amongst product, trust and safety, public policy, legal, and executive leadership

  • Identified inefficiencies and user experience issues with Google’s age verification; drove technical improvements, increasing verification rates by 11% and saving hundreds of thousands in costs

Project: YouTube Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Initiatives

  • Developed guidelines for 500+ partner managers for escalating high-risk suicide/self-harm situations. Identified gaps in process, consulted safety experts, and drove cross-functional solution for escalation guidance, facilitating leadership alignment and approvals

  • Co-lead four engagements with external Suicide Prevention Non-Profits that resulted in improved content policies and enforcement on suicidal comments and videos on YouTube

People Management 

  • Promoted from individual contributor to team manager, managing six employees. Set strategic priorities and provided coaching to achieve YouTube’s scaled legal compliance, handling tens of thousands of weekly legal complaints including government, privacy, and child safety complaints 


Crisis Text Line, West Coast Director

2016 - 2018

 

  • Lead West Coast partnerships, programs, and communications. Surpassed regional goals for number of people in crisis served in 2016 and 2017 and doubled volunteer base. Maintained 2x higher volunteer retention in region compared to national rates. 

  • Program Management: oversaw complex and undefined projects like city launches and a user-facing portal. Developed project plans and trackers, conducted research, aggregated team inputs, facilitated meeting agenda development, and lead cross functional meetings to drive project completion. 

  • Partnership Management: developed all West Coast external partnerships with non-profits and government entities like California Community College system, Golden Gate Bridge, Children’s Health Council. Identified and pitched partners, created milestones, defined go-to-market strategies, generate crisis trends reports, maintain relationships.

  • Communications: executed two press announcements generating 11M million views on 40 unique media stories. Write press releases, pitch media and social influencers, plan press conferences and social media campaigns. Interviewed by NPR, CNN, and various other outlets

  • People Management: directly managed one report and one intern, overseeing goal setting and quarterly reviews.

MedHelp, Product Manager

2015 - 2016

  • Improved user engagement (daily active users/monthly active users) of Sugar Sense diabetes app by 75% through shipping features like Reminders and Meal Logging.  

  • Product Management: oversaw mobile development process and consistently shipped features on two-week sprint cycles. Lead six mobile engineers. two designers, quality assurance and user support representatives through sprint planning meetings, daily status updates, product brainstorms sessions, and sprint retrospectives. Held cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment across milestones and project deliverables. 

  • User Research: conducted end-to-end user research initiatives. Scoped projects, recruited and surveyed users, led user interviews, synthesized findings, and presented recommendations to product team. 

  • Data Analysis: analyzed monthly metrics across four consumer apps to understand growth, engagement, and feature performance; shared reports with management team and staff.

2013 - 2015

  • Product Management: shipped features like User Profiles, Activity Feed, and Blocking. Cross functionally to lead development of features. Defined product specifications, managed designers and engineers, and monitored feature performance

  • User Research: built company's user research program. Conducted over 20 studies running usability tests, focus groups, interviews, diary studies, and large-scale surveys. Presented executive summaries with product recommendations. Lead on-the-ground international research in Indonesia, our largest market.

  • Product Marketing: developed product launch communications, managed beta testing group and power user communities, and developed College Ambassador Program. Wrote in-app copy for new features.
